WHAT?
Every year, the Continuum celebrates the anniversary of its commissioning in December.

As per STARFLEET regulations, a chapter started out as a "shuttlecraft" (also called a "chapter-in-training") for nine months. (It is now referred to as a "Shakedown Cruise"). During this time, the chapter is allowed to establish itself as a club and build up its membership before being commissioned as a full-fledged chapter of STARFLEET. The Continuum reached such status on December 4, 1993, making this our 15th anniversary.

WHEN?
December 6, 2008. Set-up will begin at 5:30 with the ceremony around 6:30.

WHERE?
The Locklin Building, located in the back of the Santa Rosa Medical Center, 6002 Berryhill Road, Milton, FL.

Map to the Santa Rosa Medical Center provided by their own website.

THE MENU
**UPDATED**: Although we originally planned to have this one catered, We have since decided to stay with tradition to keep the expenses down. Each attendee is asked to bring something; a list of what is needed will be up shortly.

DRESS
Starfleet Uniform, other sci-fi costume, or semi-formal attire.

PROMOTIONS AND AWARDS
The Continuum promotes its members in rank, as appropriate, to reflect their involvement in the Continuum and STARFLEET. There are no set number of promotions given. There are, however, a set number of annual awards given to note the Continuum's most outstanding and participating members. And, of course, there are the (in)famous 'gag awards' where anything outrageous is considered "fair game" (but in the spirit of fun).

GIFT EXCHANGING
In keeping with the spirit of the holiday season, the Continuum exchanges gifts. We ask each attendee to buy one item, spending no more than $15, and wrap it. It can be a 'serious gift' or a 'gag gift,' totally up to each giver.

During the ceremony, we will go around the table. Each person has the option of unwrapping a gift or "stealing" someone else's gift that has already been unwrapped. (A gift, however, can only be stolen up to three times). We go, throughout the night, until everybody has something.

DECEMBER MEETINGS
Because of the Anniversary Dinner and the Holiday Season, there will be no regularly-scheduled Command Staff or Ship meetings in December. We will return in January as we plan for 2009.
